While we did not stay at the hotel, we did book a couples massage at the “spa.” I say “spa” because it’s not a spa - it’s a converted hotel room that they are claiming is a spa until a real one gets built. Which is totally fine except they don’t disclose this when booking and have the audacity to charge full five star resort spa prices. There are zero amenities. No dressing room (we were told to change in the bathroom when we walked in and had no place to put our stuff), no steam or sauna (there’s a little sauna that you buy at Costco on the hotel rooms patio which isn’t relaxing at all), no privacy. When we asked to use the pool the staff was baffled. Same when we asked for a glass of champagne while waiting (staff told us no one has ever asked for that before… mind you there’s an entire kitchen in this hotel room so they could easily stock drinks to sell/offer as a nice amenity). Not being able to use the pool only makes sense when you have a real spa pool spa guests can use - otherwise you gotta offer the pool given the prices you are charging. We did eat at the restaurant which was lovely. The grounds are lovely. But we were super disappointed with this spa experience. I wish they had told us the spa reality when we booked.

I had an amazing business trip to Bishop's Lodge. The grounds were beautiful and authentic, the staff warm and friendly, and the amenities were top notch. Overall it was a polished, premium experience that we were thrilled to bring our customers to for a business event (also some of the best catered food I've had at these sorts of things!) However, the one place where things fell flat were post checkout. After checking out, I received an email for a generic form about a lost item. After looking around a bit, I realized that I had in fact left 2 nice, dress shirts in the closet. I filled out the form and waited. After about a week I called to follow up and got a generic response that someone would look. Then waited another week to have the same experience. It seems there's no ownership over returning lost items and that no one cares about whether or not I can get a few hundred dollars worth of clothes back (or that they were just thrown away without trying to get in contact with me ....). I would just expect more from a property that charges such a premium and that staff would continue to care to either determine if the items are around or tell me that they were disposed of or something to that effect instead of making me follow-up to see if I can get in touch with someone who would care about helping me instead of passing the buck to the next person in line.

Bishop’s Lodge is truly a stunning place to stay. The surroundings are beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. Our room was comfortable and well taken care of, and the guest service throughout the stay was excellent. But what surprised me the most, and completely won me over, was their tea. It is genuinely the best tea I’ve ever had, without question. I still think about it!

This place was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked up, we were greeted by name and every single staff member was so helpful and genuine. The room was one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. So spacious, beautiful views, fireplace inside and out. And the vibe was upscale southwestern and was so relaxed. The property was pristine with perfect views and nice coffee shop. The restaurant – Sky Fire – had some of the best food and drinks ever. The bread…I cannot even express how delicious, and the drinks were fantastic. Marama was incredible. She helped us with a hard to get dinner reservation, plan a perfect day of hiking, and gave us 2 other wonderful breakfast/lunch dinner recommendations. She was the best! The drivers to and from town were SO great as well…can’t remember their names but they all made us feel so welcome and comfortable. They also had great lunch/dinner recommendations. We will definitely be back. Santa Fe is now on our Top 5 list for sure!

Just spent one night. I have visited more than a dozen Auberge properties and this one was by far my least favorite! It doesn't fully feel like an Auberge. I had to wait 30 min for a car to take me into Santa Fe - they only employ one driver. It's definitely incredibly annoying when you get into a room and you can't figure out where the room service menu is and then so you have to call down to the front desk. They tell you it's on a QR code, but the QR code only brings you to a menu page and then you have to call down to the front desk again to order room service. It's just the small things that lead up to leaving with a bad taste that this is not a full service auberge hotel The coffee, snack and gift shop closes at 2pm which is absurd! I watched a dozen people come in after hiking and they're various activities to be super annoyed that they couldn't get a snack or a coffee. This is a hotel - an a high end one- I paid $1500 a night for a room and I definitely expect the entire property to be full service. My room was nice, but you could feel it's just sort of tired with touch up. Paint in the mini bar was super lame. The spa was fully booked. They have a beautiful chapel on the property that guests are not allowed to go into so it's locked yet again another thing left a bad taste of my mouth. The next morning, my flight wasn't leaving until later, so I had a couple hours to hang around the hotel and they have a separate building called their bunkhouse that just has various rooms in it ironically less expensive than the room I just stayed in - the bunkhouse has a living room but I just wanted to sit in as I had some work to do and I needed a quiet space - the hotel would not allow me to sit in the living room while I wait to leave for my flight - apparently it's a private area and the only place they would allow me to hang out is the restaurant where there was a five piece band playing. All I wanted was a quiet space to do some work and they could not provide it. This is not a hotel that I would ever return to nor would I ever Recommend to Friends
