The mountain itself is great, but the website is hands‑down one of the worst I’ve ever used. We’ve spent HOURS just trying to reserve tubing spots, and the entire process is a mess from start to finish. Creating accounts is painfully slow, and you’re forced to assign a separate email to every single person. After jumping through all those hoops, the site still refuses to move anything to the cart. The worst part is that it doesn’t even tell you what’s wrong — it just silently fails. When we finally called, we were told there are only a limited number of tubing spots available. That’s fine… but the website doesn’t show availability, doesn’t warn you, and apparently just deletes your account attempts if the spots are gone. How is that acceptable in 2026? We’ve wasted hours fighting a system that should take five minutes. The mountain is fun, but the website is embarrassingly outdated and absolutely needs a complete overhaul. Please fix your website. It’s ruining what should be an easy, enjoyable experience
We paid for a snow tubing session for four people and were very disappointed with the experience. There were no food or drink options anywhere near the tubing area. All seating areas were closed, leaving no place to sit for family members who weren’t tubing. Grandparents and others were forced to stand in the cold for the entire hour just to watch their loved ones. There was also a torchlight parade and fireworks scheduled that evening, but we chose not to stay. Standing in the dark and bitter cold with no guaranteed seating, no food, and no water was not appealing. We were told seating might be opened, but that would have required parking and walking back up the hill with no certainty of a warm place to sit. Overall, the lack of seating, warmth, and basic amenities made this a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. With better planning and consideration for families and non-participants, it could be much better.
This year has been by far the best year for tubing!! These 2 gentlemen here were phenomenal and we really enjoyed them! They worked so hard at the top of the mountain and were so fun to be around! Years past the workers would not interact with you and wouldn’t even help you! These 2 definitely made the experience fun this year!!
You do not need snow to have fun in Red River's mountains. This is a cool place boasting an aerial ropes course, chairlift rides with scenic views, and a seated zip line ride that takes you soaring over a pond. Mountain bikers and hikers can also use the top of the lift as a departure point for numerous trails in the Carson National Forest. Visitors can sit on the large deck at some restaurant with views of Gold Hill and the Carson National Forest. Good summer vacation spot for families.
Loved the easy access to the lifts and the different levels of difficulty. This is a great place to learn to ski but also a great place for advanced skiers. We took the copper lift which was right next to our room. This lift was a little tricky for me as I almost slipped off trying to get on. The views are incredible. The width of some of the trails was a little narrow which made me nervous for my kids. The lines at the lifts ate directed by staff which made the wait quick and easy. Will definitely go back! This whole town felt like it was straight out of a hallmark movie.
