Oakmont Rec Center

This used to be a decent bargain -- lowish prices, but old and decrepit treadmills. Now it's a lot more expensive and the treadmills are even older and more decrepit. Time to get some new ones and stop trying to maintain these dinosaurs with iPhone 4 connectors.

I come here every day for swim in the morning, and I know this rec center fairly well. Ventilation is decent in the pool, selection of weights and machine in the gym is per usual for an FCPS rec center, decent pricings on memberships (still standard across FCPS im pretty sure) Very nice facility overall.

We moved away from Northern Virginia but come back from time to time to visit family. We try to work in some exercise time at Oakmont each visit to see our group workout buddies, which is fantastic. This last visit we stopped to look into the pool area as we were walking out and even though we've been in that pool ourselves many times before, it just hits you how big and beautiful that pool is. I miss it!

Great 3 x scy pools for meets. Had two pools for events amd one warm down pool. Unfortunately, the officials put pool.meet equipment to near the warm down pool so they closed two lanes.

I used to come here to swim as a little girl from 1997 to 2000. I remember spending hours in the kiddie pool and getting yelled at for trying to sneak into the hot tub! Not much has changed apart from their name - the pool and locker rooms look exactly as I remember them. The pool water and locker rooms can get a bit dirty at times, and swim lane space is pretty tight on weekdays since classes start around 6 pm and run until closing at 9. Still, it’s a great workout and just as fun as it was back then.
