Hoopla's Xtreme Family Fun

Ok, I'm kinda conflicted. It's a fun place to take the kiddos, because there's not many indoor places in the Winter months. But, there's alot of claw machines & they're very frustrating for the little ones. My 6yr old granddaughter played the ticket claw machine, it grabbed two rolls of tickets & dropped them BUT they did not fall into the door to retrieve them. And, of course, Hoopla's has a disclaimer sticker on the machine stating they are not responsible for machine malfunction! SMH Very disappointed. We went because she received a gift card. Without that, I doubt we'd go again. Kinda pricey also.

Extremely disappointing experience. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or acknowledgment—just four young employees behind the counter who offered no customer service, engagement, or professionalism. I brought my daughter, who is disabled and missing a leg. I did not bring attention to her disability, nor did I ask whether she could jump with crutches—because she does not need them on a trampoline. She has visited many trampoline parks and has never once been singled out or treated differently. She is fully capable of jumping independently, just like any other child. Unfortunately, today a staff member approached us to inform me that she “couldn’t jump with crutches,” an assumption I never prompted. Rather than taking a moment to understand the situation or speak to us respectfully, the employee chose to make an unnecessary and uninformed assumption that singled her out in front of others. The lack of professionalism, awareness, and basic courtesy from the staff made this one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve encountered. This situation not only reflected poorly on the establishment, but also caused an avoidable and uncomfortable moment for my daughter. We will not be returning.

Jesse Tom It was a chilly March evening in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, when cousins Rosemary and Jesse walked into Hoopla’s Xtreme Family Fun. The neon lights of the arcade flickered like stars, and the trampolines bounced with laughter from kids soaring sky-high. But Rosemary noticed something unusual: a golden ticket tucked beneath the mini bowling lane. She picked it up, and in bold letters it read: “Find the Five Hidden Tokens to Unlock the Treasure of Hoopla.” Jesse grinned. “Looks like we’ve got ourselves an adventure.” The cousins raced through the center: At the dodgeball court, they dodged flying balls to snatch the second token taped to the wall. On the SkyRail ropes course, Rosemary balanced carefully, spotting the third token dangling from a rope. In the mini golf course, Jesse sank a hole-in-one, and the ball rolled out carrying the fourth token. Finally, in the arcade, the claw machine dropped a shimmering fifth token right into their hands. When they placed all five tokens together, the lights dimmed and a secret door opened near the toddler zone. Inside was a glowing chest filled not with gold, but with unlimited Hoopla passes for the year. Rosemary laughed. “The real treasure isn’t the passes—it’s the fun we had finding them.” Jesse nodded, bouncing once more on the trampoline. “And the stories we’ll tell forever.”

Had an okay time, but my main issue was the pricing. Most of the arcade games I saw here I have seen at other arcades I've visited, but the difference between them was the price. This could have varied a difference from just 25¢ to almost 2 dollars. The food was cold and stiff, while most of the machines took money, but failed to play.

I want to take a moment to recognize the management and staff here. Today, I witnessed an extremely irrational customer screaming and swearing, even though there was children around, and both managers handled the situation with incredible professionalism and calmness. I come here often, and the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. On the rare occasions when I’ve had a problem with a game or transaction, management has been quick to help and resolve things fairly. It’s clear they truly care about their customers and work hard to make sure everyone has a positive experience. Highly recommend this place; not just for the fun, but also for the staff and the two girls who run it.
