We booked a Kabin, which was clean but needs to be updated with some modern amenities (coffee maker, TV, complimentary items, etc.) and not rely totally on the location. We have stayed in many KOA locations, including one recently at Klamath Falls which was excellent, and this was on the lower end. Initially the service was great as we received an early check in notice text, but we could not reach a live person on the phone after making several attempts, although text messaging with another individual seemed to work fine. This was not a concern when notifying the individual through text. Location is excellent for those wanting to visit nearby Astoria or the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.

Update admin wrote back and was very kind. I’ve visited since my last post and I’m glad to see it was in better shape! Oh we love this place, we do Older review It definitely needs some TLC during the off season. Deep cleaning, power washing, most games supplied are missing pieces or cards. From the pool house, game rooms and bathrooms I was a little taken back about the state this KOA is currently in. Even if it is the off season it should be better taken care of for the paying guests. We often come here and we love this place! It's just this last time I was noticing the attention it desperately needs. With love!

So many family activities. Each weekend has its own unique theme/things to do. Every weekend in Oct. is Halloween. Haunted Cove/train rides/pumpkin crafts. Indoor pool. Great place to make core memories for your kids.

The grounds are awesome. Very kid friendly play area and lots of things to do. Ultimately I left disappointed by the overall customer service that was provided. No employees were solution focused and often responded with a simple yes or no. It took additional questioning to get a resolution on any issue big or small. For example, we needed to make change for the laundry machines, when we asked the store clerk for quarters, he simply said he’s out… we further prompted “is there a place to go for quarters?” At which point we were redirected to the game room. A similar scenario occurred before our trip ever started. We were hoping to extend our trip, when I called to inquire we were told we can’t extend. We booked an additional night at the sate park across the street. Only to find out what they really meant was our specific site was not available. I tried to further my cause by writing an email to explain that a different site is acceptable, my email and concerns went unaddressed. Employees also seem eager to leave and close things down. This one employee became very abrasive when clearing the kids’ playground. She began to yell across the playground instead of walking over to speak to any of the kids respectfully. I have more examples, that said, the overall customer service and the fact that I had to unnecessarily change locations will factor in a low likelihood of me returning and will impact the way I tell people of my stay.

Our family stayed at the Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA Resort. The property itself is nice, well-kept, and very kid-friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the staff’s treatment of us during checkout completely ruined what could have been a positive experience. After checking out of our cabin, our children wanted to enjoy the playground and pool one last time before our long drive home. While they were swimming, multiple staff members approached us in an aggressive and unfriendly manner, insisting that because we had checked out, we were “no longer welcome on the premises” and needed to leave immediately. Their tone and behavior were so harsh that our children became frightened and even started crying. We fully understand that there are policies regarding checkout, but the way this situation was handled was unnecessary and unprofessional. A courteous explanation or a more reasonable approach would have been the right way to handle families, especially those with young children. It’s unfortunate, because the campground itself is wonderful, but the staff’s attitude and lack of hospitality left us with a very negative impression. Unless changes are made in how guests are treated, I would not recommend this KOA to families.
