One of the best ice cream store in town. They have the best Death by Chocolate ice cream. The combo of strawberry and death by chocolate is insane ! Alone with their specially chocolate dip waffle cone! Other flavors are also very refreshing and good.

Family in town. Who wants Ice cream? Yay! Walking up, we got in line. We noticed the cash only sign and having cash, got in that line. People start picking up at the window. I looked to the staff to order, they walk away, saying nothing. A kid in line said “the line is over there” Oh, I pointed at it “it says cash only” and walked back to the other line. Now five people behind where we had started. The same kid a customer. “process of information”. Really? Staff heard a customer be nasty and said nothing. A stranger walked up “don’t feel bad, I stood there for 5 minutes one time” Yes, the information was there. We finally get up to the window and ask about the sign. “Oh I don’t know, that’s the manager” Not the great ice cream treat night I wanted with visiting family from out of state.

My friends and I had a fantastic time at Castlegate Ice Cream! Jolene provided excellent customer service—she was friendly, honest about the course’s older age, and made sure we still had a great experience. The mini-golf was fun, and the ice cream was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

I almost gave it two stars because the golf course is SO bad that it actually makes it almost comical and adds a star lol. I mean come on though guys, either just close this place up or charge a price thats in line with how rundown the setup is. This is without a doubt the crappiest course anywhere around. Weeds literally everywhere, the greens (see pics) are absolutely shredded / chewed up and the golf clubs are all bent! One perk - we (on a weekend) were the only ones there... not so surprising but we were thankfully able to breeze through this dump and get the heck out of there. $8 per person... SERIOUSLY?!?! This place is one step away from closing down or being marked unfit for safety reasons and you’ll probably need a tetanus shot after handling the golf clubs. If you couldn’t tell, you couldn’t pay us to return here. The owner need to either take some of that COVID relief money and renovate this place or just shut it down completely.

The ice cream is SO good, but very expensive. The golf however is SOOOOOOO AWFUL.. $12 for two adults for a ripped up course that interferes with play, disgusting algae filled pond with a broken sprinkler, handle of my putter was fixed with electrical tape, even the flags have missing or ripped up numbers. The course is boring, every hole looks the same basically. Every time you reach for your golf ball out of the hole, you get shocked from the metal. Masks are not enforced. Obviously this part isn’t the course’s fault but participants brought they’re dog into the course that wouldn’t stop barking the whole time And also weren’t wearing masks/social distancing, just being plain rude and loud too. Just being honest sharing my unpleasant experience.
