We rented a governor's cabin at Mahoney State Park to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our large family (August 11-12th 2025). The cabin itself was huge and slept up to 16 people. The living/dining area had a table that seated 16 people and a beautiful fireplace with plenty of seating in regards to couches and comfortable chairs. The cabin was perfect for what we needed but I was embarrassed by how untidy the place was when we checked in. There were greasy fingerprints all over the beautiful table. There were crumbs and food pieces on the floor and also in most of the kitchen cabinetry. The sink had not been scrubbed out. We arrived early and saw about 6 young people (maybe college aged kids) cleaning but they did a terrible job. Also, the bathroom sinks and toilets are stained dark grey and it was evident that the floors had not been scrubbed. I am giving the facility 5 stars for it's size and set up, but I am giving a 1 star for the cleanliness and maintenance on the entire cabin. I would definitely go back and rent it again if I knew it would be clean when we arrived. They really need to get new sinks and toilets in the bathrooms. I should also comment that the staff was very helpful when we needed items like trash bags or had questions.

We camped with full hookups, and appreciated the fresh water to fill our 5th wheel. The grandkids visited, and we enjoyed pedal boating, mini-golf, and fishing. Ate at the restaurant, and they had a burger, fries, and beer for $10.99. Can't beat that price..

We have rented a cabin for two days. The nature is beautiful. Lake view. The only concern is the lighting , total lack outside of the cabin and throughout the park. Also the cabin front door was all covered with spider nets. Otherwise it’s great for kids, there is a playground in a walking distance, horse riding etc

We had a women's retreat at Mahoney in the Governors Row Cabins. Each cabin had 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was absolutely PERFECT for the retreat. Everything we needed was provided in the full kitchen, and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of space for morning yoga and facials! We didn't take pictures to respect the privacy of the ladies, but all 13 of us had an amazing time, although it was winter and there were no outside activities! We didn't need them. Mahoney and the Governors Row Cabins are great any time of year! (We did have two cabins, so activities could happen simultaneously!)
