Great place to ice skate during winter time. Lake is completely frozen.
Wonderful park! The lake becomes a skating rink in winter. Beautiful day today. Warm for January 38°- no skating today, but beautiful day to walk.
what a wonderful gem! The walk around the water, beautiful gardens, serene atmosphere was unexpected. The area is surrounded by shopping & great restaurants.
Delightful surprise. Quiet, well-kept, lovely oasis in the city. Nice paved trails along canal/small lakes. Many places to sit and enjoy the flora or chat with friends.
As a seasoned parks professional and reviewer of over 200 parks and playgrounds, I would highly recommend this park as one of the most charming destinations in the Twin Cities. The park boasts picturesque walking paths that meander around the lake, beautifully crafted benches, swings, and tables where visitors can enjoy a meal or simply observe the surroundings. Additional amenities include an amphitheater, a maze, bubbling brooks, paddleboat rentals, and golf facilities, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. I completed one round of the Centennial Lakes walking path in 30 minutes, taking in the exceptional scenery. The path is akin to a labyrinth, offering numerous opportunities for capturing stunning photographs. The trail is frequently used by dog walkers and their pets, who are consistently friendly and well-behaved. The park also features an array of beautiful artwork and soothing music, creating a serene atmosphere. In my expert opinion, this is one of the finest city parks I have had the pleasure of experiencing, even in the absence of a playground. Thursdays are designated as market days, while ice skating is available during the winter months. Visitors can also enjoy lawn golf, boating, and summer concerts on the lawn. The park provides tables for picnickers, porch swings, and dining areas along the walking path. For those who have not yet visited, I highly recommend exploring the walking path, which is one of the best-kept secrets of the Twin Cities and is available at no cost. The park offers a unique and breathtaking setting year-round, seamlessly blending natural beauty, artistic elements, and urban landscapes.
